Deosil
Originally from Norfolk, Virginia, Deosil has studied music since he was eight years old. Now, more than twenty years later he has begun a different path - the path of sound healing. He has spent the last five years composing both acoustic and electronic music and has been interested in meditational practices and healing through music. Fusing acoustic elements with electronic ambience makes for a very special sound in his music. While still looking for distribution, Dylan promotes his music through word of mouth and also uses the internet as a springboard for his success. He currently lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his wife, Sarah, and has read and studied earth based religions, vedic writings, Tibetan mysticism and the teachings of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama. He is currently working with several yoga instructors, massage therapists, and spiritual healers in the Hampton Roads area to promote his music and use it during their classes/sessions.

Heather Wurtzel, RYT, CYKT
Heather Wurtzel discovered the joys and benefits of yoga when she was pregnant with her first child in 2002. She found yoga to be a wonderful gift and continued to develop her practice after giving birth. During her second pregnancy, she began studying with Margaret Pierce and eventually began teaching pregnancy yoga at the Pierce Yoga Program. As a mother of two small children, Heather realized that yoga was becoming more and more important in her life as well as the lives of her children. When she found YogaKids, she knew it was the perfect way to join her passions, her kids and yoga.
Heather became a Certified YogaKids Trainer in the spring of 2007 after completing a yearlong intensive study mastering the YogaKids curriculum. She believes that bringing yoga into the lives of children will help them develop strong bodies, inquisitive minds, loving hearts, and peaceful souls. She also believes that yoga can empower children to believe in themselves and know that they can make a difference in our world.
In June of 2008, Heather completed the Classical Yoga Teacher Training program at Kashi Atlanta and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She continued her training in November 2009 with a certification in pre-natal yoga and training in Grounded. She lives in Avondale Estates, GA with her husband, Ethan, and her two YogaKids, Olle and Naomi.

Iderah Roeck-Akarkarasu
I am a certified vinyasa, prenatal and children and family yoga teacher. Studied restorative Yoga and Yoga for arthritis, am currently studying to be a breathe facilitator. I will continue to study, forever a student.
I started practicing yoga about ten years ago and immediately felt the need to share it with everyone. I realized from my very first class that this thing called, "yoga" was going to change my entire world.
I tried to force the teacher training in every way possible, but the Universe/God had other plans for me. I needed to make my own personal changes before I was ready to share my yoga experience with others.
I began my teacher training with a huge amount of support from folks who love me. I learned that I couldn't do it on my own; it takes a village.
I have also realized that I want to share the knowledge that I have received with as many people as I can. I want to help ease the pain of others. I want to help people remember how to breath and how to move and then, in turn, make life easier for themselves and the ones they love.
Children can be just as stressed as adults. My job is also to make their little lives easier to manage through games, music and fun! Teaching them to breath through rough patches will help learn to better deal with life's challenges. Starting early is the best way to make life easier as we age.
I am in love with Yoga and what it can do for us.
Yoga for life!

Louise Rymer
Louise has been studying yoga for five years. Having scoliosis and back problems for years, she searched for a safe way to stay in shape. After watching Oprah talk about her experiences with yoga, Louise decided to give it a try. Since that time she has been a faithful follower of the practice. Over time it became more than a exercise program. Yoga became a way of life. Being an Italian Catholic, it seemed to fit in with her faith like a glove. Louise has been a Physical Education teacher with the Virginia Beach schools and is working with Virginia Beach public schools to integrate yoga into the physical education curriculum. She has a love for children that is very evident when you meet her. She is a mother of 3 grown children, a proud native of New York and a die hard Yankee fan. She hopes to share her love of yoga with her "kids". Louise is graduated from My Yoga Spirit's teacher training program in 2006 and is now a registered yoga teacher.

Melanie Mochel
Melanie Mochel and her husband moved from northern Wisconsin in 1997. Preferring the warmer weather of the beach, they settled here to raise their two daughters. In 1998, Melanie began her yoga journey and quickly became a yoga aficionado. Encouraged by her teacher, Christy Brock, she began earning her certification in "Raja" (Zen) from The International Yoga Institute in 2001. As a senior instructor of Raja, she continues to learn other styles of yoga through workshops and self study. Although Melanie is a very accomplished teacher of all levels and many styles, she is most known for her gentle approach to yoga. Helping others discover their path in yoga is what gives her the greatest joy as a teacher.

Melissa Smith, RYT
Melissa started practicing yoga 13 years ago to help heal sports injuries, and to increase her focus and concentration. In 2002, she traveled to Hawaii for a vacation and ended up trying Bikram Hot Yoga for the first time. She fell in love with it. Returning to Virginia Beach, she realized that her true desire was to teach Bikram Yoga, but had no means of making that happen. As fate works out, Melissa won a sweepstakes from Coca Cola, which was being held at a local surf shop. The prize money was the exact amount of the cost of Bikram's Yoga College of India Teacher Training Program, and, yes, Melissa definitely believes in miracles. After two physically and mentally exhausting months in Los Angeles, she finished Bikram's 500 hour certification program. Melissa has completed her associates degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, and, with the help of her yoga practice, incorporates this knowledge to achieve a healthy lifestyle. In June of 2004, Melissa received her Level II Vinyasa Training certification from Jimmy Barkan. She has assisted Jimmy at Kripalu and has trained and done workshops with Bikram Choudry, Baron Baptiste, Paul Grilley, Shiva Rea, Christy Brock, Annie Pace and others. Melissa has also done workshops with Sean Corne, practicing medical intuition techniques and healing through energy centers (chakras). She finds liberation through studying all styles of yoga and incorporates this sense of freedom into her teaching.
